Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are writing to invite you to express your interest in joining a parents council at Cherry Orchard Football Club. A parents council is a group of parents/guardians who work together to support the club and its players in achieving their full potential.

What is the purpose of a parents council?

According to the National Parents Council, the role of a parents council is to:

Work with the club management, staff and coaches to build effective partnership of home and club.

Advise the club on policy issues and incidents that may require a review of club policy, e.g. Bullying, Safety, Fees, etc.

Suggest and/or organise extra-curricular activities for the players and their families, such as social events, fundraisers, trips, etc.

Provide a support network for parents/guardians in the club and help them to become more actively and effectively involved in their children’s football development.

Invite speakers to address the parents/guardians on issues that are topical or relevant to football and youth development.

What are the benefits of joining a parents council?

By joining a parents council, you will:

Stay connected with the club and gain a broader perspective of how you can play a supportive role in your child’s football journey.

Network and make connections with other parents/guardians, business partners in your community and agencies that share a common goal of player development.

Have a voice and influence in the decision-making process of the club and contribute to its improvement and growth.

Enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as communication, leadership, teamwork, fundraising, etc.

Have fun and enjoy being part of a vibrant and diverse football community.

The mission of Cherry Orchard Football Club is to support and facilitate the empowerment of young people in Cherry Orchard so they can take control of their own lives and realise their ambitions and dreams. The vision for Cherry Orchard is a community in which every young person can achieve their full potential in life.
